3-Day Comprehensive Defensive Pistol Course (Intermediate Level)
Private One-on-One Course: 16+ hours over 3 days / $1,400
Small Group Lesson: 19-27+ hours over 3 days / $1,100 per person
Ammo requirements: minimum of 1,600 rounds
Note: This course is limited to those who already possess a valid Texas LTC, or other means of providing a background check.
This course was developed as a custom-made event for a client who asked for a myriad of realistic, reality-based self defense topics. After completing the event, it was evident that such a comprehensive course would add tremendous value to any responsibly armed citizen's skill set.
Although this is not a beginner's level course (you should already have familiarity with your handgun, handgun safety, and have passed the LTC Course of Fire), any skill level or age demographic will be able to successfully complete the course. The very tight Instructor-to-Student ratio (never exceeding 1:4 for this class) is by design to enhance your learning experience as well as ensure safety.
This course can be conducted for a single student (one-on-one learning), or for a small group of up to four students. Please note that Day 2 will be a late start, as we will conduct both daytime and nighttime events.
Course Pre-Requisites:
- Already possess a valid Texas LTC, or provide other means of background check
- Must bring a quality holster (Kydex or Hybrid preferred; no nylon or flexible holsters. Either OWB or IWB are ok.)
- Must bring a magazine pouch (1, 2, or 3 mag capacity)
- 1,600 rnds of factory ammunition (no reloads allowed)
Course Outline
This course consists of minimal lecture, with a premium of hands-on dry- and live-fire instruction. Each day will be packed with multiple iterations of progressive drills. Each technique will be honed in isolation, then incorporated into each subsequent drill to ensure retention under stress. The daily round counts are not swags or approximations; Each day's events are carefully programed out to the exact number of iterations & rounds, per event, to maximize flow and training. Each round has been accounted for, but we will deviate if needed to accommodate a student's perfection of any technique. We'll train a little longer if needed to achieve the training objectives!
Day 1: (Individual: 5+ hours) (Small Group: 6-8 hours)
Projected Round Count: 425
The focus for Day 1 is to establish base-line skills that will allow us to safely conduct the more aggressive training objectives on Days 2 & 3.
Day 2: (Individual: 6+ hours) (Small Group: 7-9 hours)
Projected Round Count: 700
The focus for Day 2 is to refine the use of cover, movement to cover, reducing the unknowns around corners and doorways, and one-handed shooting techniques leading up to night fire.
Day 3: (Individual: 5+ hours) (Small Group: 6-10 hours)
Projected Round Count: 400
The focus for Day 3 is on defense in & around vehicles, more dynamic threat identification drills incorporating movement, low-percentage & multiple target engagements, and culminating with decision making drills incorporating multiple threats intermingled with multiple non-threat targets (..Innocent Third Parties..).
