Texas LTC Course / (formerly CHL Course)
(Texas License to Carry Course / Concealed Handgun Course)
LTC Range Training & Qualification Only (No Classroom Portion)
Private Session (Individual, or Small Group of 2-6 people max)
3-hours (minimum) $200 per individual
4-hours (Optimal) $250 per individual
Two-Day LTC Course (Classroom + Range)
One-on-One Class $610
Private Group Rate $460 per individual
(2-6 people max)
There are two basic methods to complete the training requirements to obtain your Texas License to Carry (LTC). You can attend an in-person classroom session that includes the range training & qualification, or you can complete the classroom portion online via an approved self-paced course, then follow up separately with the range training & qualification.
LTC Range Training & Qualification Only
I would actually encourage you to conduct the classroom portion of the LTC class with an on-line provider, and I will happily conduct the range portion for you at the same rate as a Private Lesson ($200/person for first 3-hours, and $50/hour per person if you would like to train longer). This will satisfy the training requirements for your LTC Application with the DPS, and by doing this separately you will be more focused and attentive during the range session, and therefore more likely to retain the skills learned at the range.
I am not affiliated with any On-line Course Providers, however several students have used this one, and were pleased with the content:

Upon completion of the on-line course, please print two copies of your LTC-101 and bring to your range session. I will complete Sections B & C upon completion of the range training & qualification.
During your range session I will be able to answer any questions regarding licensed carry, or if you need clarification on any material presented from the online portion.

After receiving your LTC from the DPS, or for those with a current 'license to carry' from another state, I would encourage you to schedule the Methods of Concealed Carry & Employment Class to advance the skills introduced in this range session.

Two-Day LTC Course (Classroom + Range)
This is the Flagship course that originally set Cold Bore Tactical, LLC apart from all others in Central Texas!
I have found that by conducting the Texas LTC Course over two consecutive days the students are able to walk away with a higher level of confidence, both with a deeper understanding of how to stay on 'the right side of the law' regarding handguns and the use of force as well as demonstratable confidence in the daily carry & use of a handgun from a holster.
Day 1: We will first complete the 4-6 hours of classroom training that is mandated by the Texas Legislature, with the addition of hands-on dry-fire practice with your handgun. The written exam is typically completed at the end of Day 1.
Day 2 entails some classroom topics not covered within the scope of the LTC program of instruction, then resume the DPS' curriculum with additional range training and the marksmanship proficiency exam.
Immediately following the issuance of your LTC-100 certificate we will conduct additional range training that will prepare you with the base-line skills you will need once you receive your LTC. This additional range time will not be reflected on your LTC-100; this is beyond the scope of the DPS LTC program, and is not mandatory. Consider it my service to you.

Please note the higher than normal round count for LTC courses; we will fire much more than the standard qualification course (feel free to bring more ammo for additional repetitions of the drills). This, and the small instructor-to-student ratio with a professional instructor, is what sets my course apart from all the others. Feel free to compare this with those instructors who will offer you a weak course, offer to sell you products or 'services', then invite you to come back to learn how to carry concealed under the guise of an advanced course.
I do understand that my prices are higher than most other LTC courses; however, I ask you to compare the level of competence most other instructors will provide you, attitude-free, in preparing you for a potentially life-altering decision to carry a concealed firearm. I wish I could say differently, but it is disheartening to hear my clients recount stories of taking their Texas CHL / LTC class somewhere else and then make the mature decision to not carry because they felt ill-prepared to safely carry & employ their pistol if needed. I not only have a lifetime of experience in teaching basic thru advanced marksmanship techniques around the world; I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice graduating Magna Cum Laude. While I'm nowhere near being a lawyer, this does provide you with the unique opportunity of learning from someone who will not merely read from the penal code and click on Power Point slides, but rather from someone who can explain what it means in layman's terms. And finally, this rate is for INDIVIDUALIZED Instruction; that is, a one-on-one or couples setting, NOT for a large public group setting. If you would like to schedule a small group session (3-6 of your family or friends, or a corporate training event) I can easily accommodate that as well.
